3. Labor & Job Expenses

Use actual local costs; labor is entered per roofing square (100 sq ft of measured roof area).

4. Overhead, Contingency & Profit

Margin is calculated as profit ÷ selling price, not markup on cost.
Enter only after confirming applicable Texas/local tax treatment; this is not tax advice.

How This Estimate Works

Material costs are quantity × entered unit price. Installation and tear-off labor use measured roofing squares, not waste-adjusted material order area. Direct costs include material, labor, and job expenses. Overhead is added to direct costs, contingency is calculated on direct costs plus overhead, and the target margin is applied by dividing the resulting cost by (1 − margin). Any user-entered tax or fee is added afterward.

Not included automatically: concealed damage, detailed flashing takeoffs, local permit rules, product-specific wind attachment, local taxes, financing, warranty premiums, subcontractor minimums, and unforeseen site conditions. Confirm all before issuing a customer proposal.
